Acceptable Use Policy

This policy applies to the Um Out website, accounts, APIs, companion, plugin, hosted AI, trials, and support systems. Examples below are illustrative, not exhaustive.

1. Illegal, harmful, or abusive activity

Do not use Um Out to create, process, distribute, or assist content or conduct that:

  • violates law, court order, sanctions, or another person's rights;
  • facilitates credible threats, stalking, harassment, exploitation, or non-consensual intimate content;
  • sexualizes or exploits minors;
  • promotes terrorism or instructions intended to cause serious physical harm;
  • impersonates a person or deceptively presents manipulated media as authentic in order to defraud, defame, suppress voting, or cause harm; or
  • collects or exposes sensitive personal information without a lawful basis.

2. Rights and permissions

Do not edit, upload, transcribe, generate, publish, or distribute footage, audio, music, likenesses, trademarks, confidential information, or other material unless you have the necessary rights or another lawful basis. Respect licenses, publicity rights, privacy, and takedown obligations.

3. Service and security abuse

Do not:

  • introduce malware, destructive code, credential theft, or hidden surveillance;
  • probe, scan, attack, overload, or bypass authentication, device limits, rate limits, or security controls;
  • share, sell, forge, or reverse-engineer activation tokens or signed license leases;
  • automate account creation, repeat free trials, scrape the service, or access non-public endpoints without permission;
  • use another person's account, payment method, API key, or device activation without authorization;
  • interfere with other users or use the Service to benchmark attacks against providers; or
  • reverse engineer the software except to the limited extent such restriction is prohibited by law.

4. AI and automated output

Review captions, transcripts, summaries, edits, B-roll matches, reframes, and descriptions before publishing. Do not use output as a substitute for qualified legal, medical, financial, safety, or election advice. Clearly disclose synthetic or materially manipulated media where law, platform policy, or context requires it.

5. High-risk and excessive use

Do not use Um Out as the sole control for emergency systems, critical infrastructure, life-safety decisions, or other environments where a software error could cause serious harm. Do not use hosted features in a manner that unreasonably consumes shared capacity or circumvents plan limits. We may apply documented technical limits to protect reliability.

6. Enforcement

We may investigate suspected violations, remove access to affected hosted features, limit traffic, suspend devices or accounts, preserve relevant records, or terminate access. We consider severity, recurrence, intent, risk, and whether a violation can be cured. We may report apparently unlawful conduct or respond to valid legal process.

7. Reporting and appeal

Report abuse to hello@umout.ai with enough detail to investigate. If you believe enforcement was mistaken, reply from the account email and explain why. We will review a good-faith appeal, but may keep temporary safeguards in place during review.
