Project B-roll

Match the idea to footage you already shot

Most B-roll tools sell you stock. The footage that actually fits is usually already in the project, named something sensible, and forgotten two hours into the edit.

Part of Um Out Plus. Included in the 7-day trial.

Your bin, not a stock library

Um Out reads the names of the clips in your project and lines them up against what you are saying at each point in the transcript. A clip called drone-city-02 is a candidate the moment you start talking about the city.

That means good file naming pays off immediately, and it means nothing is licensed, downloaded, or paid for per use.

Proposals, not placements

Each match comes with the shot, the moment it would cover, and why it was suggested. You approve the ones that work.

Approved shots land on a video track above your talking head, so your main picture is untouched underneath and pulling one back out is a single delete.

Questions people ask

Does it search stock footage?

Not today. It works with the footage already in your project. Stock search is on the roadmap and is listed there rather than implied here.

My clips are named DJI_0043. Will it work?

Poorly, and honestly so. Names are the signal it reads, so a bin of camera-default filenames gives it nothing to match on.
